ICT in Turkey by enterprise, 2015

Nine out of ten enterprises used the Internet in Turkey According to Turkish Statistical Institue survey results, 92.5% of enterprises with at least 10 persons employed used the Internet in 2015. This ratio was 89.9% in 2014. By considering the size group, proportion of the internet access was 99.5% for enterprises with 250 or more employees, while 98% for enterprises with 50-249 employees and 91.1% enterprises with 10-49 employees in 2015. Proportion of the enterprises that used computer was 95.2% in 2015 while it was 94.4% in 2014. 65.5% of enterprises have their own website In 2015, 65.5% of enterprises had website while this ratio was 56.6% in 2014. While the highest website owning ratio was in enterprises with 250 or more employees with 90.9%, this ratio was 79.7% and 61.6% in enterprises with 50-249 and with 10-49 persons employed respectively. Broadband connection to access the Internet was 92.4% In 2015, 92.4% of enterprises used broadband connection to access the Internet. DSL (ADSL, etc.) was the most widely-used broadband connection type with 88.1% among all enterprises. Mobile broadband connection was also used with 66.9% of enterprises. According to the maximum contracted download speed, 44.1% of enterprises used Internet connection with below 10 Mbit/s, 40.3% of enterprises used with 10-99 Mbit/s and 15.6% of enterprises used with at least 100 Mbit/s. This rate was 27.7% in 2014. Social networks were the most common type of social media used by enterprises by 85.7%. 81.4% of enterprises used the Internet for interaction with public authorities The proportion of enterprises that used the Internet for interaction with public authorities was 81.4% in 2014. Purposes for using Internet for interaction with public authorities were as follows: to get information with 88.4%, to obtain forms from public authorities' websites or home pages with 69.1%, to submit completed forms electronically with 67.3%, to declare VAT completely electronically 56.1% and to declare social contributions completely electronically with 58.9% during 2014.
