Turkey Economic Confidence Index, Sep'16

Economic confidence index realized as 87.8 Economic confidence index is a composite index that encapsulates consumers’ and producers’ evaluations, expectations and tendencies about general economic situation. The index is combined by means of a weighted aggregation of normalized sub-indices of consumer confidence, seasonally adjusted real sector (manufacturing industry), services, retail trade and construction confidence indices. Sub-indices are calculated by using data collected in the first two weeks of each month.

Economic confidence index increased by 20.8% compared to previous month increasing from 72.66 to 87.81 in September. This increase in economic confidence index stemmed from the increases in services, real sector and construction confidence indices. Services confidence index increased to 96.23, real sector confidence index increased to 107.1 and construction confidence index increased to 81.99 in September. Consumer confidence index decreased to 74.29 and retail trade confidence index decreased to 97.99 in September.
