49.4% of enterprises had their own website in Turkey

According to the results of Survey on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Usage in Enterprises, 95.3% of enterprises with 10 or more employees used the Internet in 2021. The proportion of enterprises had their own website was 49.4% for enterprises having 10 or more employees in 2021. The proportion of enterprises had their own website was 91.4% for enterprises with 250 or more employees. It was followed by enterprises with 50-249 employees with 67.6% and enterprises with 10-49 employees with 45.1%.

34.6% of enterprises used social media applications

The proportion of enterprises with 10 or more employees using social networks, enterprise's blogs or microblogs, multimedia content sharing websites or apps and wiki-based knowledge sharing tools was 34.6% in 2021. Social networks with 93.6% were the most preferred social media application by enterprises using social media applications. This was followed by multimedia content sharing websites or apps with 65.9%, enterprise's blogs or microblogs with 29.6% and wiki-based information sharing tools with 6.8%.

Proportion of e-sales increased

In 2020, the proportion of enterprises that had e-sales increased by 2.7 percentage points compared to 2019 and became 12.5%. E-sales concern the receipt of orders by methods specifically designed for the purpose of receiving orders, either via electronic data interchange (EDI) or through websites or apps (web sales). This proportion was 11.6% in enterprises with 10-49 employees, while 14.8% in enterprises with 50-249 employees and 27.0% in enterprises with 250 or more employees. Considering e-sales by economic activities, accommodation and food service activities with 29.1% ranked in the first place in 2020. It was followed by wholesale and retail trade activities with 18.7% and repair of computers with 16.9%.
